Three years ago, Alena, one of our Family Support Specialists, began working with a local mom. This mom had had a traumatic childhood and was now the mother of a young baby. Alena built a trusting relationship with her and through their work together, the mom’s parenting skills increased. She engaged in healthy activities, practiced resilience, formed a strong attachment with her children, and her self-esteem increased.

Last week, that family graduated from our Healthy Families program, and Alena received the sweetest card from this awesome mom.

Stories like this one are the foundation of the work we do at CAPACares. Strengthening families, addressing trauma, and healing hearts and homes.

Happy first CAPAversary to Christian, one of our awesome therapists!

Christian started as an intern before joining us full time a year ago, and has grown into a confident, compassionate clinician who brings empathy, thoughtfulness, and a calming presence to clients and coworkers alike. In his own words, the experience has been rewarding. "Observing clients as they reach their goals and achieve measurable growth keeps me motivated and inspired in my work."

We’re so lucky to have you on the team, Christian!
