WinterFest last week was such a blast. We ate way too much delicious brunch, picked up a few new tricks during Raegan's cooking demo, and laughed our way through the white elephant exchange. But honestly, the best part was just being together and getting to slow down for a bit. 💙❄️

Today we’re celebrating Rose’s first CAPAversary! As a full-time school-based therapist, Rose shows up every day with a heart full of compassion and a commitment to her young clients.

"I never know what the day might bring or what challenge might be thrown my way, but I do know I get to support a child in need," Rose said. "That is what motivates my work."

Staff shared their admiration for Rose's dedication to her students and their families. Her wit and kindness are a joy, and she's an amazing addition to our team. As her supervisor, Amanda, shared, "Rose's work within the schools does not come easy, and she is navigating this system with grace and grit."

From supporting kids through tough moments to helping caregivers connect with resources and feel truly seen, Rose embodies what CAPACares is all about.

Today is Amanda's sixth CAPAversary! Amanda joined CAPA as an intern in 2016 before joining our team as a full-time therapist in 2019. This year, she was promoted to clinical supervisor!

When asked what advice she'd give to someone just starting work at CAPACares, Amanda said, "Be curious! Ask all the questions and embrace all the feedback." The concept of "Brave Space, Safe Space" and coming from a place of curiosity is something we hold very near to our hearts here at CAPACares.

Colleagues shared that they're grateful for Amanda's valuable insight, her care and concern for others, and her amazing laugh. Her graceful transition from staff therapist to clinical supervisor is something to be admired!

Grateful today and every day for this team. For people who show up with heart, care deeply for our community, and work together to help families heal and grow.

We also want to hold space for the complicated history of this holiday and the harm experienced by Indigenous peoples who cared for this land long before we were here. You can visit native-land.ca to learn more about the Indigenous territories, treaties, and languages in the places where you live, work, and play.

We’re thankful for the trust you place in us, and for everyone who joins us in this work.

Mindy, our Director of Family Support Services, joined home visiting partners from across Missouri for a special convening hosted by the Missouri's Children's Trust Fund last week. She was invited by Sommer Rose, Manager of the Promise 1000 Collective Impact, to be a voice for our home visiting program.

Together, the group talked about how to strengthen home visiting in Missouri, and shared ideas for the future. We’re grateful to have Mindy’s voice at the table as we work toward brighter beginnings for young children and stronger families for generations to come.
