One Community Hospice & Palliative Care

One Community Hospice & Palliative Care Hospice is all about living and taking advantage of every moment life has to offer. Once I met the staff, all of my doubts were eased.

When medical care cannot offer a cure, hospice provides patients and their families comfort, care and support. Hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care that focuses on treating the person and not the disease. It neither hastens nor postpones death, but rather affirms each day, enhancing quality of life for the person coping with a life-limiting illness. " The evening my mother was admitted to Hospice, I was apprehensive and nervous. They showed me such compassion and care that I knew my mother would be in good hands. They were generous with their time, explaining everything to me so I knew that not only would my mother's needs be met, but mine would be as well. I felt assured that I could contact them personally if necessary and I left with a feeling of calm, confident that my mother was in good hands. -Georgia M.

What a pleasure it was to honor Donald Emery! Don was Private First Class in the Army in Vietnam. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge with Machine Gun and Rifle Bar. When Don returned back home, he was hospitalized for a year because of his injuries. Don expressed he did what was needed, however his greatest accomplishments is his family! He has been married to Beverly who he dearly loves for 54 years and he is very proud of his two sons.
Don, thank-you for doing what was needed, we appreciate your sacrifices.

National Hugging Day is celebrated every January 21st, a date chosen by its founder, Kevin Zaborney, in 1986 to help combat post-holiday blues by encouraging connection and affection. It’s a day to share love and appreciation through consensual hugs—promoting emotional connection, friendship, and self-esteem. This year, One Community Hospice and Palliative Care will be out in the community handing out “hugs” in chocolate form. 🤍🍫
