📚✨ A Special Visit from Our Maintenance Director! ✨ 📚

Today, our very own Maintenance Director, Shane, who is also a proud Marine, took time out of his busy day to honor a Cherryvale PreK Class with a fun and heartfelt reading session. The students absolutely lit up as he shared stories — a moment that meant just as much to us as it did to them!

We are grateful not only for Shane’s hard work here at Montgomery Place, but also for his service to our nation. 🇺🇸 Thank you, Shane, for your dedication, your kindness, and for making a difference both in our community and beyond.

🥒 It’s kind of a BIG DILL at Montgomery Place!🥒

Today the staff celebrated **National Pickle Day**, and let’s just say… things got *real briny* around here. Not only did our giant pickle make an appearance, but we had every pickle creation you could imagine—pickle dips, pickle chips, and probably a few things that *shouldn’t* be pickled but somehow were.

It turned into a full-blown **pickled party**, and we’re still giggling (and crunching).

Montgomery Place: where we take fun seriously… and pickles even more seriously. 🥒😂💚

🔥 Montgomery Place Chili Cook-Off 🔥

Things really heated up today at Montgomery Place as we hosted our annual Chili Cook-Off! We were honored to welcome the Independence EMS/Fire Department and Riverside Park & Zoo as our guest judges to taste and score eight delicious homemade chilis.

There were two categories—Hottest Chili and Best Overall Flavor—and after some careful tasting (and a little sweating), the results are in!

🏆 Best Overall Flavor: Our very own cook, Chaka Daniels!
Her chili was so good that our judges—and even the residents—were coming back for seconds!

Let’s just say a few of our brave tasters were definitely feeling the heat!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this event such a success. Montgomery Place sure knows how to turn up the flavor and the fun! ❤️

Activity: Honor Pinning and celebrating
Story: Yesterday we proudly honored all our veterans, and here at Montgomery Place, we are especially blessed to have four Marines who have served our great nation. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

We celebrated by wearing poppy flowers, pinning our veterans, and enjoying delicious red, white, and blue cupcakes — a special thank-you to Gentiva Hospice for supplying the sweet treats. ❤️🤍💙

Story: Teresa began working with our therapy department to strengthen her ability to walk farther distances. During this time Teresa created a goal weight for herself. With constant dedication Teresa walked outside with therapy and indoors when weather wouldn’t allow. All of her hard work has paid off as Teresa made her goal!!!!! We couldn’t be more happy for her!

🎃👻 **Halloween Fun at Montgomery Place!** 👻🎃

Residents, staff, friends, family, and visitors all came together to celebrate Halloween in spook-tacular fashion! There was no shortage of candy, laughter, and smiles — just plenty of good old-fashioned fun and community spirit. 🕸🍬

Here’s to the beginning of the holiday season — may it be filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness! ❤️✨

Story: 🎃 Here in Independence, we’re delighted to celebrate NEEWOLLAH—a cherished tradition filled with carnival fun, pageants, parades, and, of course, delicious food! Our residents and staff at Montgomery Place joined together in the spirit of the season to create festive Halloween treats. The pretzel webs turned out beautifully, and everyone is eager to welcome the spooky season ahead! 👻🕸️
