Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care is a community based organization dedicated to palliative and hospice care. We are focused on meeting or exceeding our patients’ individual medical, emotional and spiritual needs, while making each remaining moment as meaningful as possible. While Medicare mandates the minimum services that hospice patients must receive, at Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care, we are committed to exceeding industry standards because we recognize that each patient’s life experiences and spiritual beliefs have created a unique individual who deserves the finest care and emotional support, while honoring and respecting their needs and wishes. Every team member and volunteer is encouraged to go beyond what is required and help all patients and their families enjoy the highest possible quality of life in the precious time they have together. We provide compassionate care and expert pain management to people nearing the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families and friends. Our approach is holistic, with a team of professionals serving patient’s medical, emotional and spiritual needs. We accept Medicare payments at the same rate as non-profit hospices do and we lower Medicare’s expenses by caring for patients in their home.

We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget.

Today, on September 11, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who responded with courage, and the families who continue to carry their loved ones in their hearts.

As a hospice organization, we are reminded daily of the importance of compassion, connection, and cherishing every moment with the people we love. On this day of remembrance, we stand in unity, gratitude, and reflection.

🕯️ We will never forget.

Classic cars, big smiles, and great memories 🚗✨

At The Abode in Independence, the Men’s Club is in full gear thanks to Todd , Hospice Liaison Area Manager at Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care, who coordinated setting up this monthly gathering alongside the activities director.

This month’s theme was classic cars — residents swapped stories about their first and favorite rides, shared laughs over unforgettable road trips, and debated engines and horsepower like true enthusiasts. The group’s excitement was so strong, the meeting ran 20 minutes over!

The Men’s Club now meets monthly, and with next month’s theme of military aircraft, anticipation is already high. Todd will even be bringing his own model airplane collection to help spark conversation.

It’s incredible to see how these shared passions create lasting connections and joy.

Scoops of Smiles at The Village at Carroll Park 💚

Today, David from Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care hosted an Ice Cream Sundae Social at The Village at Carroll Park, serving up 4 gallons of Belfonte vanilla ice cream — a Kansas City favorite! 🍨

✨With about 80 sundaes enjoyed, residents loved the sweet toppings and the cheerful atmosphere. There were smiles, thumbs up, and even one resident lending a helping hand with the toppings as David worked quickly to keep up with the demand. Moments like these remind us that care is not just about services — it’s about creating joy, connection, and a sense of community.

From room to room, the simple gesture brought refreshing moments and brightened the afternoon for so many. It’s these everyday acts of kindness that create lasting connections and make our communities feel like home.

💚 At Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care, we believe care is about both comfort and joy — and sometimes, that comes in the form of a popsicle on a warm day.

S’mores, Laughter, and Memories at Meadow View 💚

This week is Camping Week at Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation, and David from Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care brought the campfire spirit indoors with residents.

Together, they made delicious s’mores, enjoyed fresh popcorn, and played a camping-themed trivia game.

The joy didn’t stop when the event ended — just 30 minutes later, the Activity Director, shared that residents were still talking and reminiscing about the treats and the fun they had.

💚 At Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care, we know these moments create more than smiles — they build connection, spark memories, and brighten days.
