The ROE Story: Past, Present, and Future

"You can't know where you're going until you know where you've been."
From Roland Miller's workshop in 1933 to our state-of-the-art facility in Independence, we've uncovered quite a journey. What started as a simple 100th birthday celebration turned into something deeper, a chance to understand the real roots of who we are.

We found pioneers like Roland with his four patents that labs still use today. We discovered Rita O'Brien, who ran the books for over 50 years and proved that leadership in dentistry has no gender. We learned how Bruce Kowalski built more than just bigger buildings, he built a family where some employees have stayed for decades. And we watched BJ grow from a kid covered in plaster dust to a CEO betting the company's future on 3D printers when everyone else thought he was crazy.

But here's what ties it all together: Every single person in this story saw problems and fixed them. Roland didn't like how denture flasks worked, so he invented better ones. Rita saw a business that needed steady hands, so she provided them. Bruce knew doctors needed education, so he started mailing newsletters. BJ watched technicians struggle with old methods, so he brought in technology that changed everything.

Today, ROE holds numerous patents and trademarks on our products. We're one of the larger digital denture manufacturers in the country. We're developing AI-powered smile design. But those achievements aren't the destination but rather the latest chapters in a story that's always been about one thing: making dentistry better.
