If you are feeling depressed, you might feel inclined to reach for an alcoholic beverage, but you might consider grabbing coffee or tea ☕️ and doing a walk and talk with a friend instead.
Alcohol is a depressant. It can cause anxiety and make depression worse. And if you take medicine for depression, alcohol might affect how that treatment works.

If you feel a depressive episode coming, there are resources that can work together to help you.
