and the BLOOMS THIS YEAR... off the charts in antioxidants ~ remember those cold snaps in January? They may have taken out most of our trees and garden; however it BOOSTED the nutrient profile in the calendula blooms. As a protective defense, the plant threw out extra antioxidants to save the plants and it is quite obvious in the voluptuous flowers harvested this year.

how to dry brush🌻

with kate mcleod’s dry brushes now in, it’s a good time to catch up on how + why to dry brush!

why?
🌻 dry brushing exfoliates the skin + preps it for moisture through body butter or oil
🌻 increases circulation + lymph flow
🌻 invigorates dull skin
🌻 keep follicles clear/preventative of ingrown hair
🌻 energizing for morning time sluggishness
🌻 nervous system stimulation

how?
1. begin with dry + bare skin🦶🏼

2. brush starting with the legs -> arms -> back all in the direction of the heart (to work with the natural blood + lymph flow which centers at the heart)💛

*brush in long clockwise strokes or smaller upward strokes
*use gentle pressure- causing red skin from harsh running is NOT the goal

3. the whole thing should be about 3-5 minutes⏲️

4. hop in the shower after (cold if you want a bit more invigoration!❄️)
5. seal it all in with body oil (Everyday Oil is a perfect pairing)🍯
