Zon Beachside Residents Witness Sea Turtle Release

The residents at Zon Beachside were thrilled to be part of such an incredible experience! On October 1, 2025, they gathered at Pelican Beach Park in Satellite Beach to witness the release of Bugs, a juvenile green sea turtle, back into the ocean.

Bugs had spent the past five months at the Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center after arriving in April with severe barnacle encrustations on its shell, which caused fractures and tissue damage. Thanks to the dedicated care of the Healing Center team, Bugs made a full recovery.

The release, open to the public and weather permitting, was a truly special event—highlighting both the resilience of wildlife and the important role of conservation efforts. Seeing Bugs return to the ocean was a moment of joy and inspiration for everyone in attendance, especially our Zon Beachside residents.

Thanks to our amazing team members rocking authentic Dolly Parton attire, everyone got to enjoy a truly unforgettable experience. At Zon, we don’t just play bingo—we take it to the next level and create memories that last a lifetime! 💖

We are surrounded by incredible talent at The Residences at Zon Beachside! 🎨 Our residents enjoy a weekly art class led by the wonderful Debbie, our Art Teacher. Many of our residents came to Zon already passionate about art and have continued to nurture their creativity—either by taking the class or sharing their skills with friends.

We were honored to host an Art Show showcasing both current works and pieces created throughout our residents’ lifetimes. From intricate drawings to pottery and stitchwork, every piece was absolutely stunning.

A heartfelt thank you to all who attended—residents, family, and friends—and to everyone who shared their beautiful talents with us! 💖

🐾💖 A big thank you to Friends of Freddy Pet Rescue for bringing the sweetest furry visitors to Zon Beachside! Our residents showered these little pups with hugs and kisses, and the joy on their faces said it all.

Many of our residents have had beloved pets throughout their lives, and holding these adorable puppies brought back such wonderful memories. 🐶✨

We are so grateful to Freddy Rescue for sharing this special experience with us!
