We often hear proud parents say things like,
“My newborn came out holding their head up!”
“They want to stand at just one month old!”
“They’re trying to roll so early… so strong!”
What many people don’t realize is that early “advanced” movement is often a sign of tension rather than true strength.
Milestones are meant to unfold naturally and in order. When babies skip steps or seem super ahead of schedule, it’s usually because their little body is compensating. Proper development requires both strength and stability.
It’s definitely sweet to watch, but a calm, well-regulated nervous system is the real foundation for proper strength development. As babies, we want them to be relaxed and not tense. They have all the time in the world to be strong. ❤️
