CONSUMER DIRECTION TRAINING 2026
Hello Footprints families and happy new year!! As we begin 2026, DHHS and NCLIFTSS have released the information regarding initial and annual ongoing training sessions for consumer directed families. This training is only required for families using consumer directed services as part of their CAPC plan of care.
INITIAL TRAINING is a scheduled webinar that the person who will be managing your consumer directed services (your Employer of Record or EOR) will be required to complete before consumer directed services can begin. This training is approximately two and a half hours long and is a live, interactive webinar that is only offered once a month. If you are considering a transition to consumer directed services for your child this year it is a good idea for your EOR to go ahead and schedule participation in a session.
ANNUAL TRAINING is a self-paced slide-based training that EORs must complete once a year. At the conclusion of the training, the EOR will find a link to a web-based form which will require that the EOR enter their information, their care advisor (case manager)'s name and email address, and complete several multiple choice questions. Completed of this form is required as confirmation that the EOR has completed the training and will be required to be submitted with your annual review. Your EOR may complete the training at any time within the year of 2026. Additional information regarding the training and access to the slide presentation can be found here:

Please reach out to your assigned case manager if you have any questions about training requirements for your child.
