We’re so proud to share that Makenna Berchin graduated from Mortuary School yesterday! Makenna came to us while a student at IUP, studying Anthropology, but thinking she might want to be a funeral director. She had a chance to work alongside Dave and Taylor and it helped confirm her choice to enroll at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Here she is years later, all graduated. 🥹. We wish her the best in her internship and in her career!

Once or twice a month we use our van to pick up food for Chevy Chase Community center from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and bring it back for our neighbors who need a little help.

Thinking of the many families navigating a loss that has occurred since last Christmas.

If Christmas is hard,
If you’ve lost someone dear.
Just look in your heart,
And you’ll know they’re still here.

The star in the sky,
The light falling snow.
The robin outside,
It seems like they know.

If this is a time,
When you’re struggling through.
Just do what you can,
For what matters, is you.

There’s no need to be merry,

It will all be alright.

Today we want to shine the light on Indiana County’s newest licensed Funeral Director! Amanda Anderson has been working with us for about a year and a half and has trained under Dave Rairigh and Taylor Allison. Her previous experience was with the Coroner’s office and Indiana Hospital.

If you see her today or sometime in the near future — congratulate her on her hard work and her excellent skills and her very warm heart.

Our profession is lucky to have her!
