Whatever the size, shape or color, Lefdahl Monuments can provide you with a lasting memory. At the John A Lefdahl Funeral Home, our goal is to construct a monument that fits your needs.

As of May 15, things are looking a bit brighter in regard to the COVID-19 Pandemic. As you have probably seen on the news, many businesses are now reopening. The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home continues to remain available 24 hours per day if needed.

In complying with Governor Wolf's yellow phase of operation, we are now increasing the number of individuals who may now attended services to 25. Visitation is acceptable as long as we remain in compliance with standards, i.e. masks need to be worn, anyone experiencing symptoms that may be related to the corona virus should not attend services or visit the funeral home, and we are attempting to maintain recommended social distancing.

There has been no change regarding pet cremation or monument sales. We remain available for both services.

We hope that everyone is remaining safe. I know times are trying but if we all maintain a positive attitude, we can get through this together. Myself and my staff wish you the best and to remain healthy.

During the Corona Virus Pandemic, I felt a need to update our families every week on what is going on with the funeral industry and precautions they should be taking.

The Lefdahl Funeral Home will continue to conduct visitations and services but limiting to family members only during this outbreak.

Human cremation and pet cremation have not been affected.

We are doing prearrangements via the phone, our website, or face-to-face with 1 to 2 people.

Monument orders are still be taken but due to businesses being shut down, delays in delivery are to be expected.

On a personal note, as a former critical care nurse I would like to stress the importance of following social distancing and staying home as much as possible. If you are wearing gloves to go to the grocery store it would be advisable to also wear a mask since the virus can be contracted through respiratory excretions as well as direct contact.

In staying home there are many things that can be done to occupy your time such as reading, puzzles, cleaning, watching tv, or most importantly talking with each other.

Although this is a very serious situation that all of America is facing, there is no need to panic but react with logic and discretion.

The staff at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home continues to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic. The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home remains committed, prepared, and available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to care for our families during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The health and safety of our families, guests, and staff is at the forefront of what we do as funeral home providers.
Based on recommendations, the Lefdahl Funeral Home has instituted the following guidelines:

We will continue to conduct visitations and funeral services, however only family members will be permitted to attend.

Prearrangement meetings will continue to be conducted either in person, by telephone or via our website.

Monument orders will continue to be accepted, however there will be a delay in delivery and installation.

Pet cremations will continue as usual.

Many places of worship are not conducting services at this time, however the Lefdahl Chapel is available for private funeral ceremonies. The chapel is well suited due to its large size to facilitate social spacing.

We want to assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to limit the spread of the virus and are taking preventative measures to keep our families, guests, and staff healthy and safe.

19/03/2020

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, some places of worship are suspending services, including funerals. In some cases, service arrangements are being changed.

We will post any service changes to the obituary listing on our website. Before attending a service, please check online to confirm the service details or call the funeral home at 724-463-4499 for confirmation of service details.

We will continue to make our chapel available for services.

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) we are sanitizing the facility after each service. We are committed to the health and well-being of the families we serve, our community and staff.

Cremation has become a popular choice for final disposition. When cremation is performed through the Lefdahl Funeral Home, there is an identification process between the funeral home and the cremation provider.

The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home has been working with Wilbert Crematory in Blairsville for approximately 15 years. We continue to maintain a healthy, professional working relationship with Wilbert Crematory because they care for your loved one in the same professional, caring manner that we do.

Time is a priceless commodity. It is something we are given from the time of birth until the time of death with no guarantee of how long our life span will be. Time is something that can be used differently by each individual. You can take advantage of it, make good use of it, spend it dreaming or spend it remembering. But the one thing about time is that it should not be wasted. Take the time to be with the ones you love and show them you care.
