Our Story
In 2006 I started college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to become a Registered Nurse. I never knew that I would simultaneously be discovering my true passion β fitness. It all started when my friends convinced me to take a kick-butt cardio kickboxing class with them at the fitness center on campus. I thought it would be a fun way to spend time with my new friends. However, it ended up sparking this addiction in me that has led to a passion for helping other people find a fun and exciting way to workout, stay fit and live a healthier lifestyle. In the year 2007, I obtained my Group Exercise Instruction certification along with a certification in Step Aerobics and have been teaching group fitness ever since.
I graduated from IUP in 2010 with my Bachelors degree in the science of nursing. I worked in a nursing home for a few years throughout college and upon graduation I started working in the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse. These two worlds collided when I began seeing all of the illnesses and sickness that comes with living a sedentary lifestyle. Poor nutrition and lack of exercise was clearly at the root of these illnesses in 80% of the patients I would see. Diabetes, heart disease, orthopedic pain, back problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, fatigue, poor immune system, even psychological disorders. This fueled my passion even more! Knowing that fitness and proper nutrition could change these patientβs lives and outcomes made me push further into this passion and turn it into a career. Preventative medicine β itβs fitness, proper nutrition and taking care of your body. Period.
Hearing clients tell me how successful they have been at reaching their goals is what drives me to continue teaching the upbeat, fun and motivating classes that I teach. I have received countless messages from clients sharing how their blood pressure is normal and they no longer have to take medication, or how their cholesterol has come down to a healthy range. Fitting into a wedding gown, finally seeing definition and finally feeling more energized, relieved of stress and healthy are things that I hear regularly from my clients, and I love it!
I have expanded my services to not only group fitness classes, but also to small group training and one on one training sessions as well. My primary focus throughout training sessions (for both large and small classes) is always proper ex*****on of exercises and proper form. This ensures a safe and proper workout. Modifications are provided for all fitness levels (beginners to advanced athletes). When people talk about why they love my classes so much, you will usually hear them comment on how motivating class can be. I love to motivate and coach you to reach your highest potential each and every class. I know how important each workout is. Iβve seen what it can do. And Iβve also seen what not doing it looks like too. I want you on that other side. I want you to work hard and leave feeling proud of yourself and encouraged to continue coming back. You are SO capable of doing so much more than you think! I want to see you in the gym, not in the Emergency Department. Take care of your body, itβs the only place you have to live!
