When clients come in with shoulder discomfort, I don’t just poke around where it hurts — I assess how the shoulder is moving as a whole. I guide it through its full range of motion, searching for restrictions and tension that might be holding things back.
I work not only the muscles behind the shoulder (like the rotator cuff and upper back), but also the muscles in the front (like the pecs and delts) and the neck — all of which can contribute to limited movement or pain.
Often, shoulder pain stems from overuse, weakness, or poor posture. When that happens, the brain tries to help by tightening muscles around the area, essentially “bracing” to protect it. But over time, that protective tension can create more discomfort and dysfunction.
The goal? Restore mobility, reduce tension, and help your brain feel safe enough to let go of the grip it’s keeping on that area.
Shoulders feeling stuck? Let’s get them moving again. August appointments available.
