Indiana restaurants offering free meals for those affected by SNAP cuts

INDIANAPOLIS — Central Indiana communities are coming together to provide free meals to those affected by SNAP cuts.

At the beginning of November, a multitude of businesses are planning to provide free meal deals to anyone who shows a SNAP EBT card with matching identification. These meals will be available until SNAP funding is reinstated or while supplies last.

See the list below on what each restaurant is offering and when:

Richmond, IN
Block Head Records — 413 N. 8th St.
Starting Nov. 1, 10 birthday boxes will be available from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday. Birthday boxes include everything needed to bake a birthday cake and candles.

Thai Thara — 1000 Chester Blvd.
Only on Nov. 2 and 9, 100 free meals will be available between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Each meal will include chicken fried rice.
Through the month of November, a 10% discount will be offered to any federal employee that shows a PIV card.

Mancino’s — 217 National Rd. W.
Starting Nov. 3, a free large one-item pizza will be available for pickup every Monday.

Firehouse BBQ & Blues — 400 N. 8th St.
Starting Nov. 3, 100 free meals will be available by 12 p.m. every Monday. Each meal will include a smoke pulled chicken breast, green beans, buns and BBQ sauce.

IHOP Richmond — 540 W. Eaton Pike
Starting Nov. 4, up to 20 buttermilk pancakes will be available between 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. every Tuesday.

Sweet Blessings — 625 E. Main St.
Starting Nov. 5, a half pan veggie garden salad with a pint of dressing, French bread loaf, and a nine-inch foil cake will be available by 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday.

Centerville, IN
5 Arch Brewing Company — 129 E. Main St.
Starting Nov. 1, 100 free meals will be available by 11:30 a.m. every Saturday. Each meal will include a chicken and rice casserole.

Plainfield, IN
Pizza King — 2368 E. Main St.
Starting Nov. 4, a free 14-inch cheese or one topping pizza with breadsticks and a family salad will be available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every Tuesday.

Stacks Pancake House — 6011 Gateway Dr.
Starting Nov. 6, a free breakfast will be available from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Thursday. Breakfast will include two eggs, hashbrowns, and a choice of two pancakes or toast.

Brownsburg, IN
Rockstar Pizza — 922 E. Main Street
Rockstar will offer “Pizza Surprise Boxes” with lunch buffet leftovers. Follow their Facebook for details.

New Castle, IN
Temptations — 2001 S. Memorial Drive
Temptations is launching a “Pay it Forward” board where the restaurant and customers can leave tickets for free meals. Temptations said the community has already donated enough for 437 meals.

Mancino’s of New Castle — 2111 S Memorial Drive
Starting on Monday, Mancino’s of New Castle will be offering anyone who currently receives SNAP benefits a single large 1-topping pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or sausage) at no cost. Delivery is not an option and a SNAP card must be shown. This will only be available on Mondays until the government reopens or while supplies last.

Dunkirk, IN
The Firehouse BBQ — 126 East Commerce Street
Firehouse will give out 50 free meals every Sunday until SNAP benefits are reinstated. Customers can also drop off canned goods and other nonperishables.
Connersville, IN

Daniel Girls Farmhouse — 600 North Central Avenue
Daniel Girls Farmhouse restaurant will put up a “Blessing Board” where people can donate toward buying a meal for customers and families who depend on SNAP. The restaurant said it will also provide 50 meals a day free for those with a SNAP card.

Anderson, IN
Carter’s Kitchen — 333 Jackson Street
Carter’s Kitchen said it will provide free hot meals to those in need affected by the SNAP benefits ending. The restaurant said to come in, sit at the counter, and ask for the community meal.

Seymour, IN
Lola’s Modern Kitchen — 820 A Avenue East
Lola’s Modern Kitchen said they are offering free grilled cheese sandwiches and kids’ meals. See their Facebook for more details. They are also hosting food drives at Lola’s to support a food pantry at Mae’s Townhouse.
