What a way to wrap up Assisted Living Week! On our final day at sea, our residents got to visit the GBV Casino! 🎲 Residents tried their hands at blackjack and roulette, placed their bets at the GBV Downs horse races, and even pressed their luck on our one-of-a-kind human slot machine! 🃏🐎🎰

We enjoyed plenty of tasty snacks while browsing for treasures at the gift shop to take home as souvenirs from our Ageless Adventures. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable week full of laughter, friendship, and new memories!

🇦🇺Today our cruise docked in the beautiful Australian Outback and our passports got another exciting stamp! We were thrilled to welcome a special guest, Donna, who brought along an incredible collection of authentic Australian treasures. From artwork, clothing, and jewelry to a real kangaroo pelt, she shared a wealth of knowledge about Australia’s culture and history.

Of course, no trip to Australia would be complete without trying some local flavors! Residents enjoyed pavlova, a delicious traditional dessert, and even got adventurous with Vegemite sandwiches.

To top off the day, everyone tapped into their creativity by designing their very own boomerangs—a fun keepsake to remember our Aussie adventure! 🪃

🇲🇽 Day 3 of our Assisted Living Week cruise brought us to beautiful Mexico! Residents enjoyed sipping on refreshing homemade horchata and snacking on warm, sweet churros. 🎶 We shook things up making music with our own maracas, learned some fun history about mariachi bands, and even played a few lively rounds of Lotería. To top it all off, everyone had a great time wearing sombreros and embracing the festive spirit.

🌺🌴 Aloha from Hawaii! 🌴🌺

Our Assisted Living Week cruise made its second stop today in beautiful Hawaii! Residents enjoyed learning a fun hula dance, sipping on refreshing Blue Hawaiian drinks, and of course, collecting another stamp in their passports (because every great adventure deserves one—even when we’re still in the USA 😉).

We wrapped up the day with some indoor beach volleyball, plenty of laughs, and island vibes all around. What an unforgettable stop on our Ageless Adventures journey! 🌊🌞🌺

🌊🚢 Assisted Living Week Kick-Off! 🚢🌊

This year’s theme is Ageless Adventures, and we’re setting sail on a week-long virtual cruise with our residents! Each day, we’ll be “arriving” at a different port to explore, celebrate, and enjoy the journey together.

We launched our adventure on Monday with a lively Sail Away Party! Residents received their cruise passports and sunglasses, crafted their very own scenic portholes, and indulged in sweet treats. The room was filled with laughter, music, and plenty of dancing as we celebrated the start of this special week.

Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

Autumn Glen celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of Bill and Mary Lou this week. It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. He often shared these fond memories, so the team knew exactly what would make the perfect Tree of Dreams by bringing him back to the farm! The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. What a beautiful gift and a reminder of cherished memories!
