Where In the World Are you GOD????
Oftentimes we find ourselves in the messiest section of our Lives and we are not hearing from God, or so we think.
Picture this, you decide you are going to purchase a garbage house in a historic community (Picture if you will, Good Bones where I grew up in Fountain Square, in Indianapolis- long before it was cool to live there) and you are going to restore that house beyond its original beauty and it will have NEW VALUE. It will have more to offer than it even did even in it’s original state.
You envision a gorgeous home filled with the things you love, decorated by you with all your amazing style and the smallest of details.
This process is so messy. I mean, you can not even sleep because you are neck deep in the work that is required to get from your reality to your vision.
There are walls that must be busted up, old rusty plumbing pipes that must be replaced, and wait… you were working and doing and then you found a crack in the foundation of the entire house. And, you make headway, and you find termites have been eating at the walls. What in the whole what God? Termites??? Are you Kidding Me?
Now you are an intelligent person, you did your due diligence prior to beginning this process. You created a business plan on what the cost of this project was going to be. How much time you must allow for the deconstruction and then the reconstruction, how much money this project was going to cost you…. But these new problems keep popping up.
Lord t’day, “ I am unsure if I can finish this task Lord, it has become more than I can handle.”
The Cost of this project is so great, I can’t sleep right, I can’t eat right, I can’t think right. I am consumed by the magnitude of the problems that are REAL problems during this deconstruction and reconstruction process.
I am not imagining these problems, they are very real.
You feel the magnitude of the problems in your mind, your body and your spirit.
But wait…. This is not the final construction. Today is NOT the day to place the Open House sign in the yard.
There is yet more work to be done, more pain to be had, more tears to cry, more sleepless nights.
But do not be dismayed, here is the truth. God is in your story. He is working things for your good. There will be a day that you can go in and place your white velvet sofa in the living room of your new home right in front of your beautiful white stone fireplace that reaches from floor to ceiling, there will be the day that you can decorate this home and fill it with food, family, laughter and memories. You must never give up on your dream, or the reality of what is coming.
It is just not here yet, but it is coming. I promise you it is coming. God is in the breaking and in the molding and in the creating. He is there, he is HERE.
So, today I want to give you hope. God is working things for my good and for your good. Today may not be your “Open House”, but it is coming. There is a process to go through, but the process will be worth the wait.
I encourage you to have hope. God is not dead, he is not sleeping, he is not silent. He is Working. And he is working this out for your good. As much as we want great things for our children and grandchildren, God loves us even more than that and He wants great things for us.
I will leave you with this scripture text God gave to me today,
Matthew 9:17
Neither is new wine, put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.
From this I gather that I should not be trying to force anything… I must trust the process. I can not decorate my new home while it is still under construction. But one day, I can and I will. One day you can and you will.
If we continually TRUST the process, and project manager.
His resume is flawless.
