We’re proud to celebrate our first graduates from treatment at Hickory Treatment Center - Grinnell! Thank you to the Grinnell community for the warm welcome, support, and partnership as we begin this journey together. Here’s to hope, healing, and new beginnings. 💙

A note from the Executive Director. We are absolutely thrilled that we have had 16 humans graduate from treatment. We thrive when they thrive! ❤️

Sometimes the hardest decisions in life are the right ones. I feel very privileged to serve in this capacity and am extremely blessed with an amazing team.

Thank you to the community of Grinnell for welcoming us and partnering with us. Together we are better.

It truly takes a village.

Sincerely,

Having good days isn’t a solo mission. Check in with friends and loved ones to offer support. Connection is protection; you don’t have to face “not-so-good” days alone. Small moments of connection, whether in person or virtual, can reduce stress and remind us we’re not alone. Together, we can create more good days for everyone. 💚

During , we encourage everyone to think about what a “good day” means for you. “Good” doesn’t have to mean happiness or high productivity. It could be calmness, manageability, or something else entirely. Your definition of a good day may evolve, and only you can set that standard. Regardless of your current feelings, remember: more good days are achievable, support is accessible, and you are not alone. If you or someone you care about is facing challenges with substance use and co-occurring disorders, Hickory Recovery Network can help. Please call 1-800-604-2117 opt 1.

Spotlight on Zackery, our superstar Executive Director of Hickory Treatment Center - Terre Haute

Zackery, our Executive Director, is many things: He’s a leader, a husband, a father, an advocate for the voiceless, and an ally to the chastised. But above all else, he’s a person in longterm recovery from Substance Use Disorder.

He remembers rock bottom all too well — the guilt and shame, the hopelessness and helplessness, the nights spent in hospitals or jail.

Now, his lived experience with addiction and subsequent recovery have enabled him to serve as a trusted expert on several substance and mental health-related court staffing teams. The very same disease that threatened to take his life now affords him the insight and expertise needed to guide others towards a path of recovery.

He is no different from you. Remember: you can do amazing things.

If you or someone you love is ready to turn your addiction into a life-saving resource for others who suffer, take the first step: Call us at 800.604.2117 and turn your potential into promise.

While stress is normal, unmanaged stress can harm mental and physical health. Many turn to substances as a coping mechanism, creating a hard-to-break cycle. To disconnect stress from substance use, we must build healthier coping strategies. Here are some effective approaches: https://hickorytreatmentcenters.com/2026/04/stress-awareness-month/
