Silver Support is a monthly gathering where older adults can talk openly about memory, health, relationships, grief, and the everyday experiences of aging. It’s a safe, welcoming space to share your thoughts, reflect, and feel supported.

No pressure. No judgment. Just understanding, encouragement, and community.

Our furry, four-legged volunteer Kayla made her rounds at Hooverwood this weekend, spreading pure joy to everyone she met. 🐾 Residents love Kayla, and Kayla loves them right back. There’s nothing quite like the comfort a dog brings!

Did you know Hooverwood welcomes pet visits? With up-to-date vaccination records, your pup can visit too! A little dog time can go a long way.

🎲✨ Community Game Night never disappoints! Each month, a dedicated group of volunteers — led by the wonderful Marsha Millikan — brings late-night laughs, lively rounds of Po-Ke-No (a fan favorite!) and other games, and prizes that make the evening even brighter.

Their energy, kindness, and month-after-month commitment make this cherished night possible. Thank you to everyone who shows up, sets up, and keeps the fun going long after regular hours. We’re grateful for you!

Join us Sunday, November 23rd as the Colts take on the Kansas City Chiefs—kickoff at 1:00 PM!

This week’s Giving Tuesday Gratitude Series reminds us that end-of-life care is about more than comfort; it’s about connection.

In this moving reflection, Melynne and David Klaus share how Hooverwood Living and ARN Hospice became part of their village, helping their grandparents, Don and Joyce, live out their final chapter with dignity, warmth, and love.

With the right support, even the hardest moments can become some of the most meaningful. At Hooverwood, we’re honored to walk alongside families on this journey—providing care that uplifts, connects, and comforts.

With deep gratitude to Melynne and David for sharing their story, and for sharing Don and Joyce with us. Their legacy lives on in every moment of care and connection.

For this month’s Kibitz & Cocktails, we were pleased to welcome guest speaker Scott Campbell, a paramedic with over 20 years of experience and the son of our resident, Karen! 🚑🚨

Scott shared valuable insight into the 911 process, the role of paramedics, and answered frequently asked questions about emergency services. It was an informative and engaging evening, and we are grateful to Scott for sharing his expertise with our community!

Keyuana shares how meaningful conversations with residents, their wisdom, and their care for her as a person bring her deep fulfillment. But it’s not just what she receives, it’s what she gives. With time to slow down, listen, and connect, Keyuana helps residents feel seen, valued, and truly cared for. At Hooverwood, lower staffing ratios allow our team to build relationships that go far beyond routine care, creating moments that uplift everyone involved.

Last week at Hooverwood Living, we celebrated the changing seasons with our annual Fall Festival! 🍂 🍁 Residents enjoyed apple cider, donuts, live music, and a pumpkin decorating contest featuring some seriously creative staff designs! Everyone did an amazing job this year, swipe to the end to see which pumpkin took home the win! 🏆

Yesterday’s Guild Game Day was another wonderful success! The Hooverwood Guild gathered a lively crowd of players for mahjong, canasta, and more—all while enjoying a delicious luncheon at Woodland Country Club in support of the Guild’s mission to enhance the lives of our residents. 🀄🃏
