Do you understand Chiropractic? If you haven’t been to one, then chances are, probably not… But let’s find out with these four simple questions.
Question 1:
Do you understand that your brain and nervous system’s responsibility is to control/coordinate all of your bodily functions?
If so, you are in agreement with every physiology textbook that has been published.
Question 2:
Do you understand that your brain sends out information (via chemical messengers/brain waves) to the rest of your nervous system, in order to control and coordinate every function that you perform?
If so, then you are in agreement with every medical textbook ever written on the subject.
Question 3:
Do you believe that a disruption of the information sent over the nerve system can lead to a dysfunction that can impact your health?
If so, you are in agreement with anyone who has ever studied the central nervous system.
Question 4:
Do you ‘believe’ that removing any obstruction to a nerve would improve the function of said nerve, thus improving your brain’s ability to control and coordinate all of your bodily functions, and therefore your overall health?
If so, then you agree with all the published research on the topic.
If you answered yes to all these questions, you understand chiropractic and YES, THIS IS SCIENCE.
A Chiropractor’s goal is to check your spine for changes/misalignment in the spine (called vertebral subluxations), that are causing interference to the proper function of your nervous system.
In other words, chiropractors re-establish and maintain the connection between your brain and your body to maximize function so that your body can perform it’s best in everything it does. Results vary from person to person but the most common benefits of regular chiropractic care are: more energy, improved general health, clearer thinking, concentration, and memory; better ability to handle stress; improved range of motion and physical performance; better sleep; greater value from exercise and nutrition choices; more balanced body chemistry; improved digestion; improved immune function; etc… basically a greater overall quality of life.
