The Beckoning Cat, or Makeni-Neko, is a common symbol in Japanese mythology that is believed to bring good luck or fortune to its owner. The Three Fates, known as Clotho, Atropos, and Lachesis, are the personifications of destiny in Greek mythology. The Fates are considered to be sisters and the thread they work with is the thread of life. Clotho spins the thread, Lachesis measures the thread, and Atropos cuts the thread. The role of the Fates is to ensure that every being, both mortal and divine, lives out their destiny in line with the universe.
