➡Favorite part of the job: Anesthesia and intensive care- both form special bonds with the patients because there is so much one on one time. Helping a patient wake up from surgery or recover from a difficult illness is the most rewarding part of my job.
➡Favorite Animal to work with: Any chelonian! Especially snapping turtles. I also have a soft spot for guinea pigs.
➡Fun fact about you or your pets: I have a special good night song that I sing to any avian patients who have to stay overnight as I'm putting them to bed. Please don't ask me to sing it.
(A note from our social media team: the goodnight song is really catchy and the birds love it!)
➡What is your favorite health topic to talk about and educate clients on?: Pain management! A lot of our patients are very good at hiding that they are in pain, and I think it's important to consider things from our perspective. If a broken bone or kidney stone would be painful for us, it's painful for our pets, no matter how normal they are acting.
➡Describe your job in 3 words: Always Advocate (for) Patients

➡Fun fact about you or your pets: I have 2 couch potato dogs and I love to read fantasy and horror books
➡What is your favorite health topic to talk about and educate clients on?: Husbandry- I enjoy chatting with clients about the best way to care for their pet, sometimes the easiest husbandry changes can make the biggest difference!

➡Favorite part of the job: Something I love most about this job is how versatile it is! Every species we see brings its own unique challenges, and I enjoy learning how to best care for each one. I love learning new things and this job is definitely the place for that! Getting to grow in my knowledge every day helps me better care for our patients.
➡Favorite Animal to work with: Ferrets!
➡Fun fact about you or your pets: I take aerial silks classes in my spare time! As for my pets, my 3 guinea pigs all have breakfast themed names. 🍳
➡What is your favorite health topic to talk about and educate clients on?: Husbandry! It plays such an important role in all of our exotic species and can be difficult to figure out, especially with so much information on the internet available to you. Getting the opportunity to assist clients in creating the perfect environment for their pet is very rewarding!
➡Describe your job in 3 words: Gratifying, exciting, complex

➡What is your favorite health topic to talk about and educate clients on?: I would have to say husbandry, it's rewarding to get first time exotic owners started on a good foot and help them set their pet up for success!
➡Describe your job in 3 words: Fast paced, thrilling, rewarding.

All week long, AEAC is celebrating the incredible nurses who keep our patients healthy and our team running strong! ❤

First up: Amanda! 🌟Please take a moment to thank her in the comments for everything she does for our patients and our team!
➡Favorite part of the job: I am very lucky to have a job that is genuinely rewarding. There is no better feeling than putting all of your knowledge and technical skills into caring for a patient, and being able to see that patient improve and go home to their family.
➡Favorite Animal to work with: I absolutely love Guinea pigs, both as pets and as patients!
➡Fun fact about you or your pets: My very first exotic pet I ever had was a hairless guinea pig 🦛
➡What is your favorite health topic to talk about and educate clients on?: I find dental disease to be very fascinating. One of my personal rabbits has it and now that I have been on both sides - as a technician trying to educate clients on it and a pet owner trying to manage it - I am able to better understand the difficulties some of our clients face.
➡Describe your job in 3 words: Chaotic, challenging, rewarding
