Over the weekend, Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo hosted its first Medical Mission at Home event, providing free health and wellness services to 125 community members facing barriers to care.

With the help of more than 80 volunteers, including providers, nurses, pharmacists, chaplains, associates, and community partners, patients received medical and mental health services at no cost and without needing insurance or appointments.

For many patients, the event was more than a single visit. Medical Mission at Home helped connect individuals to ongoing care and local support services, continuing our commitment to serving those most in need 💙

Congratulations to our latest DAISY Award recipient, Leah, a nurse in our Trauma Neuro Intensive Care Unit. 🌼

Leah was nominated by a colleague who shared that she cared for a young woman with very limited means of communication. Leah created a tactile braille learning system using index cards, giving her patient a new way to connect with the world and showing incredible creativity and compassion.

During , Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis recognizes one esteemed nurse leader with the annual DAISY Nurse Leader Award. This year, we are proud to recognize Angie House, Nurse Director over Emergency Services and Administrative Representatives.

One of her nominators said, "She has a way of making my job easier without even trying, simply by being the kind of leader who leads with intention, kindness, and consistency. She is, quite simply, one of the most genuine and compassionate leaders I have ever met—and the team feels the same. Angie doesn’t just lead the ED; she uplifts it.
