In so many cases, but not all!, steroid injections are just tenderizers for eventual surgery. They stop pain by stopping the bodies ability to create inflammation. As with all phenomena in our body, there is a helpful aspect to inflammation. It is the signal to remodel and heal damage to our tissues. So, I go the other way and use platelet rich plasma, to complete soft tissue healing instead of stoping it like steroids.
