Paul Barlow brings a deeply personal perspective to the committee for the inaugural St. Jude Evening of Hope Indiana Gala. As a parent of a St. Jude patient, Paul has seen firsthand the extraordinary care, cutting-edge research, and compassionate support that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides to families facing childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

That powerful experience is what lead Paul and his family to their mission of “paying it forward” and fundraising for St. Jude. Each December Team David participates in St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend and have raised over $500,000 for the hospital. Paul is also a member of the Indiana Advisory Counsel for St. Jude and in his professional career, he is the Vice President- Channel Partner Director at Carson Group.

Meet Natalie Wentworth, whose passion for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has grown alongside recent outreach efforts within the Central Indiana community.

As a mother to three young children, she is honored to support St. Jude because it gives hope to families walking through difficult journeys with their children and allows them to focus on what’s most important - their child’s healing. The lifesaving research and compassionate care St. Jude provides is truly inspiring.

Natalie supports logistical efforts for the Evening of Hope Gala and is honored to work alongside a committee team that is deeply passionate about supporting and raising awareness for the incredible contributions St. Jude provides to its patients and families.

Meet Natalie Bussell, a 2026 Gala Committee Member:

"What began as a workplace fundraiser in 2020 became a lasting commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I’m honored to now serve on the Indiana Advisory Council and be part of the committee planning this year’s gala in support of its mission.

As a mom and aunt, St. Jude’s work is especially meaningful to me- every child deserves the chance to grow up, dream, and live a full life. I’m incredibly proud that, though the generosity of my colleagues, my workplace has raised over $830,000 to support this work. St. Jude was founded on the belief that no child should die in the dawn of life- and that mission is why I continue to support it."

Jai considers one of her greatest honors to be the recognition of a commemorative brick on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital campus, symbolizing her many years of dedication to its life-saving mission.

Prior to retiring in 2023, Jai served as Senior Channel Marketing Manager for Brizo, where she was a passionate advocate for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She played a key leadership role in the brand’s support of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, beginning in 2010 when Brizo became the program’s first national sponsor. Under her leadership, the brand donated faucets, showering products, and accessories for homes across the country—contributing millions of dollars in support of St. Jude families. Brizo continues to serve as a national sponsor more than sixteen years later and has expanded its impact, including serving as the primary sponsor of the inaugural Indianapolis Gala.

Since retiring, Jai has remained deeply committed to the mission. She served as Chair of the 2024 St. Jude Indianapolis Walk/Run and currently leads the Silent Auction Subcommittee for the Gala, continuing her legacy of service and advocacy.

Meet Samantha Bettinger, Social and Media Chair for the inaugural Indiana St. Jude Gala, where she leads efforts to elevate the event’s presence through strategic storytelling and engagement.

Samantha’s passion for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital began at Miami University as a member of Tri Delta. She continued her involvement in Chicago on the St. Jude Young Professionals Board, supporting the Harvest Moon Gala as both Marketing and Logistics Chair.

She currently works in Regulatory Affairs for Simtra BioPharma Solutions and is deeply inspired by St. Jude’s mission to provide hope and advance treatments for children and families around the world.

We’re proud to highlight Cassondra Hustrulid, Chair of the inaugural Indiana St. Jude Gala this June at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie.

Cassondra’s passion for St. Jude is deeply personal. After losing her uncle to leukemia as a teenager, and now as a mom to two boys, she’s committed to ensuring families never face childhood cancer alone. “I knew the St. Jude logo and their mission, but I didn’t fully understand the depth of their impact, how they surround families with care, ensure they never see a bill, and invest so deeply in research that’s shared around the world. It’s truly remarkable and makes me so proud to be part of this organization.” - Cassondra

From leading teams to the St. Jude Marathon in 2024 and 2025 to serving on the St. Jude Advisory Council and championing the mission within her organization, Cassondra leads with heart and a strong pay‑it‑forward spirit.
