✨ We are honored to share that Rafael Sánchez will serve as the emcee for the Inaugural St. Jude Evening of Hope Gala in Indiana!

A familiar and trusted voice here in Indianapolis, Rafael is a multiple Emmy award‑winning anchor and reporter at FOX59/CBS4, where he co-anchors First at Four and leads the impactful segment—advocating for people and helping solve real community challenges.

Rafael’s connection to our city runs deep. After coming to Indiana from the Bronx to attend Franklin College—where he triple majored and now proudly serves on the Board of Trustees—he has spent decades investing in the people and organizations that make this community so special.

What truly sets Rafael apart is his heart. From participating in dozens of local events each year to helping nonprofits raise critical funds, he brings an unmatched warmth, energy, and compassion to every room he enters. His commitment to service rooted in his background as the son of immigrants and his passion for education, empowerment, and community perfectly reflects the mission of St. Jude.

We couldn’t imagine a better person to guide us through an evening dedicated to hope, impact, and saving lives. ❤️

Join me in welcoming Rafael as we come together to make a difference for the children and families of St. Jude.

We’re proud to share that is the Title Sponsor of the St. Jude Evening of Hope Gala, supporting the life‑saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
What makes St. Jude extraordinary is simple and powerful: families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on helping their child heal.
This inaugural Evening of Hope Gala in Indiana is designed to bring our community together to celebrate hope, honor resilience, and raise critical funds St. Jude can count on for years to come. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, meaningful mission moments, a silent auction, and a Raise Your Paddle experience supporting children and families facing childhood cancer.

📆: June 13 6-10 PM
📍: The Bluffs at Conner Prairie

Meet Paula Warner, whose passion for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® began years ago, when Brizo®, the luxury brand of Delta Faucet Company became the first national sponsor of the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway.

“I’ve toured the St. Jude campus in Memphis many times,” says Paula. “Each visit revealed a bright, new hope for solving the most difficult childhood cancers and other life-threatening diseases.” Regional events, such as The St. Jude Evening of Hope on June 13, 2026 at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie help fund the tremendous amount of research and care necessary to continually improve survival rates. As St. Jude founder, Danny Thomas, believed, “No child should die in the dawn of life.”

Paula is a breast cancer survivor and the mother of three grown children. “I’m honored to serve alongside my gala colleagues in Indianapolis to bring awareness to the St. Jude purpose: Finding cures. Saving Children.

We are honored to introduce our Decor Chair Jennifer.
Jennifer became a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at age five, where she was treated for a benign bone cyst. Her experience left a lasting impression and connection to the hospital’s mission.
Nearly 49 years after her treatment, she revisited the St. Jude campus in Memphis, an experience that reinforced her decision to get involved locally.
That’s why she’s honored to serve on the committee for the inaugural An Evening of Hope Gala, supporting the life-saving mission started by Danny Thomas. Since its founding, survival rates for childhood cancer have dramatically improved, and St. Jude continues to push toward a future where no child is lost to these diseases.
She is also the owner of Blooms & Designs by Jennifer, a custom container gardening and floral design business she has run for 13 years.

When people think about a gala, they often picture the beautiful details, the tables, the lighting, the program, the celebration. And yes, those things matter. But for our St. Jude Evening of Hope Gala Committee, the real story begins long before guests arrive. It begins with why we do this work and the people who quietly bring that purpose to life.
Over the past several years, Kristine Schutte has been one of those people. Her dedication to St. Jude shows up not in headlines, but in the steady, thoughtful ways that keep momentum moving forward. From organizing and supporting gala committee efforts to helping align countless moving parts, Kristine consistently keeps the focus where it belongs, on the children and families St. Jude serves.
That commitment doesn’t stop with the gala. For two years, Kristine has helped support the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend, coordinating the behind‑the‑scenes details that turn a race into a meaningful experience. From planning meals and travel logistics to creating moments of connection and celebration, she helps ensure that participants can show up focused, supported, and proud to represent this mission.
Kristine has also helped bring St. Jude’s mission into leadership gatherings through meaningful service projects, reminding all of us that giving back isn’t just something we plan for, it’s something we do. Whether assembling care kits or helping weave mission moments into meetings, her work consistently connects purpose to action.
Time spent learning more about St. Jude’s work in Memphis has only deepened her commitment, and here in Indiana, we’re incredibly proud to have Kristine helping rally fellow Hoosiers around this cause. Hope may reach far beyond our state, but it’s built locally, through people who say yes, step up, and bring a servant’s heart.

Paul Barlow brings a deeply personal perspective to the committee for the inaugural St. Jude Evening of Hope Indiana Gala. As a parent of a St. Jude patient, Paul has seen firsthand the extraordinary care, cutting-edge research, and compassionate support that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides to families facing childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

That powerful experience is what lead Paul and his family to their mission of “paying it forward” and fundraising for St. Jude. Each December Team David participates in St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend and have raised over $500,000 for the hospital. Paul is also a member of the Indiana Advisory Counsel for St. Jude and in his professional career, he is the Vice President- Channel Partner Director at Carson Group.

Meet Natalie Wentworth, whose passion for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has grown alongside recent outreach efforts within the Central Indiana community.

As a mother to three young children, she is honored to support St. Jude because it gives hope to families walking through difficult journeys with their children and allows them to focus on what’s most important - their child’s healing. The lifesaving research and compassionate care St. Jude provides is truly inspiring.

Natalie supports logistical efforts for the Evening of Hope Gala and is honored to work alongside a committee team that is deeply passionate about supporting and raising awareness for the incredible contributions St. Jude provides to its patients and families.

Meet Natalie Bussell, a 2026 Gala Committee Member:

"What began as a workplace fundraiser in 2020 became a lasting commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I’m honored to now serve on the Indiana Advisory Council and be part of the committee planning this year’s gala in support of its mission.

As a mom and aunt, St. Jude’s work is especially meaningful to me- every child deserves the chance to grow up, dream, and live a full life. I’m incredibly proud that, though the generosity of my colleagues, my workplace has raised over $830,000 to support this work. St. Jude was founded on the belief that no child should die in the dawn of life- and that mission is why I continue to support it."
