🎉 Did the holidays wear you out more than they used to? It could be listening fatigue. This is when hearing loss makes your brain work overtime trying to fill in missing speech sounds amid background noise and overlapping conversations.

Other simple signs of hearing loss are asking others to repeat themselves, turning up the music more than usual, talking louder than those around you, or having trouble following a group conversation.

Our bird has been in our logo for many years, but do you know why?

Years ago when we wamted to develop a logo, Dr. O’Connor had a patient who had been having regular audiograms to monitor his hearing. His wife noticed he wasn’t hearing the same, but he thought things were “fine” with his hearing- they were not. Dr. O’Connor told him he had some hearing loss and was missing out, risking his health and his quality of life and recommended treatment. Fred declined….

Until 1️⃣ spring 🌷morning, when they were enjoying their morning ☕️ coffee on their porch. He looked up and saw a bird “choking “ with its head tipped back?! 🐦 He told his wife who calmly said, “Honey that bird is singing a beautiful song. It’s so happy it’s spring! And you can’t hear that??” He replied, “I’m going inside to call for an appointment at Professional Hearing Services, Inc. - it’s time for me to hear better.”

Fred loves to share his story, even after all these years as a very satisfied patient!

Who 👂 heard the 🎶 Brownsburg High School and IU bands yesterday? What were YOUR favorite 🌹 game day sounds?

I'll bet that The Sound of Brownsburg marching band...from Brownsburg, Indiana...is very happy tonight. Not only did they march in their first Rose Parade ever...the Indiana Hoosiers were victorious in the Rose Bowl Game. A great day for the state of Indiana.

I'm wondering if we'll see a few of these high school band members on the IU Marching Hundred in a couple of years. I think so.

Rose Bowl week. 🌹

As preparations get underway in Pasadena, we’re spotlighting Kevin Asbell, BA'93, BA'95, JD'99, a three-time IU graduate from Indiana University, the IU College of Arts and Sciences, and the Indiana University - Maurer School of Law.

As Chief Operating Officer of the Tournament of Roses, Kevin leads the delivery of America’s New Year celebration, overseeing the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game and stewarding one of the nation’s most enduring traditions.

It’s one of those moments where timing, place, and people come together naturally.
