Meet Landon Ash, our new Fleet Mechanic! His first week was spent learning the intricacies of ambulances, which he says are “fun to work with.” His favorite part is, “how helpful and nice the people are here” and he is looking forward to learning even more from them. Welcome to the team, Landon!

This week, our EMT Trainees were gaining valuable practice with glucometers and inhaled medications. Students were even able to monitor their own blood sugar levels before and after lunch to show how quickly it can shift! They are now studying hard for their next big test, and ready to take on the next set of skills.

Over the weekend, Indianapolis EMS aided our community for the Washington Park Back-to-School event. Games, prizes, and education were available to all, and citizens were also given a chance to register for the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) nutrition program and Healthy Start program. Education and health starts with reaching out!

Our EMT Trainees were focusing on airway procedures this week. Ranging from basic to complex, their airway skills have been honed in case of an emergency. We're looking forward to next week's new set of skills!
