Oof, we’re hoping this is our last goodbye for a while!! We’ve had the joy of having Spencer (nicknamed Suspence, Spencie, and many others) as one of our techs this summer. He’s not only helped our patients with many exercises, but he’s also provided constant energy and laughs with his daily Monster energy drinks, frequent wear of khakis despite being told he can wear athletic clothes, and his weird obsession with cheese and noodles (no butter, because the cheese is enough). We celebrated his last day today with attire of his request - jerseys!

Have a fun and safe year at Purdue, Spencer! We miss you already!

Another goodbye this summer 😢 Alex finished up his last rotation before heading back for his final year of PT school at UIndy! We’ll miss his quick wit and cool outfits, but we know he won’t miss us constantly making him do pushups (sorry not sorry). Best of luck in your last year of PT school, Alex!! We know Brian misses you already 🙂

We would say it’s a good day because new discharge T-shirts came in (who doesn’t love a free T-shirt?), but it’s also Hannah’s last day 😢 Thank you for all your help this summer! We’ll miss all the flips and your bright smiles every Thursday/Friday!

✨Meet the Staff Monday✨

Meet our favorite patient administrative coordinator (PAC), Madalyn Fricke! Since starting with Team Rehab in July 2022, Madalyn has been our front line of defense when it comes to insurance or scheduling questions. She’s the first person to greet you when you call or walk in and continually makes both her coworkers and our patient’s lives easier. In the clinic, you can often find her with a headset on talking to patients (or insurance companies, but she doesn’t like to dwell on that), enjoying a nice cup of coffee in her Stardew Valley mug, or conspiring with Dustin about the next prank they’re going to pull. Outside the clinic, Madalyn enjoys gaming, chilling with her cats, and annoying her husband.

✨Meet the Staff Monday✨

Meet Sarah Hogan, PT, DPT! Sarah calls Michigan home but moved to Indianapolis with her husband after finishing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Evansville in 2024. She was working at our Indy - Northwest location but transferred to the Broad Ripple location at the beginning of June. Despite her recent relocation, she is no stranger to Broad Ripple. Our clinic was her last clinical rotation before completing her doctorate, so Broad Ripple holds a special place in her heart!

Sarah enjoys treating all individuals but especially athletes, post-operative ACL rehab, and those with neurological conditions. Sarah is certified in PWR! (Parkinson Wellness Recovery) as well as dry needling. Inside the clinic, she’s known as the clinic sweetheart but when she’s not treating patients, Sarah enjoys baking, hiking, reading, and traveling.

✨Meet the Staff Monday✨

Meet Dustin Notter, PT, DPT! He originally hails from the Fort Wayne area but has been a resident of Indianapolis since obtaining his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Trine University in 2024. Dustin enjoys treating individuals from 10 to 100 but has a special place in his heart for overhead athletes since he played baseball from elementary school through his time at Wabash College. Dustin also recently became certified in dry needling.

Although we weren’t sure Dustin talked the first 6 months he worked in the clinic, he has quickly become the jokester of the clinic (if you don’t believe us, ask to see our iPad lockscreens). When Dustin isn’t pranking his coworkers or patients, you can often see him enjoying a Cubs game, checking (ahem, losing) his Fantasy football league, or drinking an ice cold beer.

Meet Ashley Schmoll, PT, DPT! She’s our pelvic floor guru but she also enjoys treating hypermobility-related symptoms and loves a good post-operative knee/shoulder evaluation. She declares herself an “adopted Hoosier” since she received both her bachelor’s and doctorate at the University of Evansville, but she’ll always claim the St. Louis area as home. Ashley and her husband lived in Nashville, Tennessee for several years after she graduated from PT school and relocated to the Indy area to be closer to family in early 2024. She’s been working for Team Rehab - Broad Ripple ever since!

Outside of the clinic, Ashley enjoys reading, going to her in-laws’ lake house, looking up crochet patterns she’ll never actually create, and trying to figure out the many functions of her mom’s sewing machine. Inside the clinic, you’ll often find her cracking up at the weekly dad jokes she writes on the white board or changing the clinic music to something from the 2000s (and probably dancing along to it).

Congrats to University of Evansville DPT student, Callie, on finishing her first clinical! Although she only spent 8 weeks in the clinic, she quickly became a favorite of both her patients and coworkers. We’ll miss her quick wit, lunchtime walks, and catching up on what’s happening with the Fever and Pacers every day. Best of luck on your 2nd year of PT school!!

✨Meet the Staff Monday ✨

Meet Brian Stockman, PT, MPT, COMT! He’s the person you go to when things go wrong, when things go right, and everything in between. He has been the clinic director at Team Rehab - Broad Ripple since the clinic opened 9 years ago. Brian started his physical therapy career as a physical therapy assistant (PTA) and went on to receive his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Findlay in 2008. In 2009, he obtained his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT). Although he misses his northern Indiana roots, he has called Indianapolis home for many years now.

Brian treats all areas of orthopedics, but his favorite areas to treat are the cervical spine, concussions, headaches, and vestibular therapy. He is also certified in dry needling and ASTYM.

When he’s not treating patients, you can usually see him acting as the clinic handyman, taking his dogs (Dax and Kiki) on a walk, or at his family’s cottage sitting lakeside. If you hear 80s music playing in the clinic, you can guarantee that Brian put it on.
