🌹✨ Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This is also a special day in the Magnificat history book. 🙏🏥 On this day, 4 years ago, we first (re)opened our doors and saw patients at our Naab Road location after a fire in our 86th St. location. 🌟

Our Lady, carrying the unborn Christ Child, is the patroness of the unborn, symbolizing the sacredness of life, which is foundational to our practice. 🤰

Beginning next week we will have a new electronic record health system for our practice flow and patient database. This will be new for all of us and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we learn to use this new system.

With this in mind, you will be receiving an email in the coming days from "Healow". Healow is the patient app and cutting edge patient portal that will allow you to check in yourself, schedule appointments, upload files for providers. Not to mention directly message the practice for any healthcare concerns, give you access to your lab results, appointment summaries, etc. Healow will also be your direct line of communication with us for your healthcare needs.

We highly recommend setting up your Healow account so you can have the best care experience!

PCOS TIPS. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a metabolic and endocrine disorder that affects women. Symptoms of PCOS can be described as a continuum, as a woman's experience maybe mild to severe. PCOS can be caused by insulin resistance, inflammation, hormonal birth control, high stress hormones, and thyroid problems. These issues cause an increase in predominantly male hormones, which often causes cycle irregularities, excess hair, and acne.

Some common symptoms include:
• Irregular menstrual cycles which are caused by the ovaries not functioning properly.
• Infertility related to the ovaries not ovulating (releasing an egg) or ovulating irregularly.
• Excess facial hair, acne, and male pattern balding caused by elevated male s*x hormones.
• Weight gain caused by insulin resistance.
