David has a way of finding joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments, whether staying active, sharing stories, or seeing good things happen for others. He notices the small things, and those moments are what matter most to him.​

​David grew up in Indianapolis with two older brothers and two younger sisters. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning a full scholarship to Loyola University in Chicago for track and field, a reflection of his lifelong love of running and physical activity. Before college, David attended Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, where he was part of the school’s very first graduating class in 1966. He ran on a half-mile relay team with Sammy Carter, Clyde Peach, and Mike Blakey, an experience that remains a meaningful part of his story.​

​David spent more than 30 years working at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. The stories he heard, the creativity behind the scenes, and the people he met during his time there remain some of his favorite memories to reflect on and share.
