Treatment #3 is done! Finishing up with the protective meds while Miss Byrde, the therapy dog gets her through these last few hours! This cycle felt much longer with the holiday weekend, but Ava is happy and ready to get out in the sunshine ☀️

It was a long night with a beeping machine every 5 minutes and a chest xray at 2:30am. The needle is against the wall of her port but is still in position to get fluids in and blood return. Praying for no more hiccups.
Things that made her happy? A snacklebox made with love by a good friend, macaroons ,and a new penguin which she gripped tight all night long 🥹 🐧 🍭 The last bag of meds is running. Planning our escape tomorrow afternoon. 💛

Day 4. Lots of sleeping but she’s hanging in there. Mustering the energy to walk around “the block” is tough, but she’s tougher, so a raccoon cake-pop reward it is! 3 more nights to go. 🙏🏼

Waiting for the Dr to call always feels like a millennium, but it was worth the wait. The lymph node with disease has reduced in size by half! No new disease or progression was found. Ava will continue treatment as tolerated and the girl can tolerate like nobody’s business. Our surgeon and radiation doctors will meet tomorrow to devise a plan for after treatment. Please continue to pray and thank you for all your prayers already. The tears keep flowing through both sorrow and joy but we are more thankful than ever for the good days, hours and seconds. Thank you Jesus 🙏🏼💛🙏🏼

‘Twas the day before a pet scan…and we are all trying to relax. Please, if you’re the praying type, say a prayer tonight for Ava. We are hoping the medicine is working and she is on the road to healing completely ❤️‍🩹
