March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

Congresswoman Erin Houchin recently introduced the bipartisan “Providing Opportunities for Individuals in Need of Treatment and Support” (POINTS) Act, which would create the first dedicated federal funding stream for gambling addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

As sports betting and online gambling continue to expand across the country, access to treatment and support is more important than ever.

Through Life Recovery Center, Mental Health America of Indiana provides treatment and recovery services for individuals experiencing gambling addiction. Programs like Life Recovery Center and other providers with gambling expertise recognized by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction help ensure Hoosiers have access to care, support, and recovery.

Expanding prevention and treatment resources strengthens individuals, families, and communities.

Today we honor the lives lost to overdose and the families, friends, and communities who carry that loss every day. Their lives mattered, their stories mattered, and they will never be forgotten.

We were privileged to have Brett Havlin share his powerful testimony.

His story centered on PTSD and the mental health challenges facing public safety officers and the unseen weight carried long after the call ends.

It was a reminder that supporting those who serve our communities must include supporting their mental health.

Watch. Listen. Share.
