June 27th is National PTSD Awareness Day and we want to take a moment and reflect on those in the workforce who navigate a PTSD diagnosis. Employees living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) may seem content on the surface, but they often face invisible challenges that affect their day-to-day work.

Whether the trauma comes from military service, public safety roles, or other life experiences, HR leaders need to understand the signs of PTSD and create a workplace where those employees feel seen, supported and empowered.

While it’s best to encourage all employees to utilize their health benefits, focusing additional engagement efforts on high-risk members can offer a better ROI. That’s because 90% of the nation's $4.5 trillion in annual health care expenditures are for people with chronic and mental health conditions, according to the CDC.

That breakdown includes:

1. Employees with Type 2 diabetes face medical expenses 2.6 times higher than those without the condition.
2. Heart disease and stroke cost the U.S. health care system $254 billion per year and cause $168 billion in lost productivity on the job.
3. Obesity, which places people at higher risk of chronic conditions, costs the U.S. health care system nearly $173 billion a year.

By targeting benefits outreach to employees managing chronic conditions, or those of high- or unknown-risk for chronic conditions, you can support employees in managing conditions or risk factors to avoid further complications and high-cost health events.

June marks Men’s Health Awareness Month, providing a timely reminder to encourage preventive care and early detection among your male employees.

Despite the importance of regular checkups, men are often less engaged with the healthcare system, making them more likely to miss routine screenings that could catch serious conditions early, when treatment is most effective.

In fact, one study found men are 32% less likely to visit a primary care physician compared to women, while another study found 72% of men would rather do household chores than see a doctor.

Manufacturing employers work hard to keep their teams safe and take clear steps to prevent injuries on the job. Manufacturing work and physical labor have increased levels of danger, and workers in manufacturing often lift, bend, or perform the same motions repeatedly, which can wear down the body over time. Add in slippery or uneven floors, and the risk of accidents goes up fast.

Many manufacturers already see big wins from offering advanced primary care (APC) through on-site or nearsite health centers. Now, more of them are taking it a step further by integrating occupational health into their care strategy. It’s a smart move that helps catch and treat workplace injuries early, keeping employees healthy and operations running smoothly. Read our latest blog to learn more!

Did you know...healthcare can be fun too!

Yesterday, we teamed up with our amazing client, the City of Charlotte, for our first-ever "Boots on Ground" flash mob. 💃🕺

It was a hit, with more than 150 patients, health coaches, and teammates showing up, proving that when it comes to health, this community shows up!

From dancing in the CMGC lobby to connecting over shared wellness goals, this event was more than just fun; it was a celebration of the power of proactive, people-first healthcare.

Huge shoutout to the City of Charlotte for being such a fantastic partner and to every "fan" who came to join us. 💪

We believe in meeting people where they are, and sometimes, that means showing up with music, energy, and a whole lot of heart. 💚
