Due to the current shutdown,the federal government has notified states that it will not fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beginning November 1st. Approximately 6,000 Hoosiers utilize SNAP benefits, and at this time, Indiana has not announced any plans to fund SNAP using state funds in the interim. If you, or someone you know, could face a gap in food access, here are some statewide resources that could provide assistance.

The Bureau of Disabilities Services (BDS) continues its Waiver Reset initiative. As part of this work, BDS has partnered with the Human Services Research Institue (HSRI) and Aligned Consulting Collaborative to hear directly from people receiving services about their experiences and ideas for the future.

We encourage providers to help the individuals you support participate in one of these sessions and ensure their voices are part of this important conversation.
