As we close out a milestone year marking 20 years of autism service, we want to take a moment to spotlight the woman whose vision made Hopebridge possible.

Twenty years ago, Hopebridge began not as a business, but as a calling.

Before there were centers, teams, or a name families would come to trust, there was a working mom, an occupational therapist, and a quiet but persistent pull to do more for children who needed deeper, more comprehensive care. In the middle of raising young children, carrying a full caseload, and juggling the realities of everyday life, Kim Strunk saw a gap. And instead of accepting it, she chose to build something better.

What started as one clinician asking, “What if?” became a model of care that has changed thousands of lives. By pioneering the first center-based practice to fully integrate occupational, speech and applied behavior analysis therapies, Kim helped reshape what comprehensive autism care could look like. She built a model grounded in collaboration, intensity, and compassion — one that reduced barriers for families and elevated outcomes for children. What began as a bold, unproven idea became a blueprint that the industry would later follow.

Today, integrated care is talked about as best practice. Twenty years ago, it was leadership in action.

Hopebridge exists because Kim never lost sight of what mattered most: how children and families feel when they walk through our doors. That legacy continues to guide us forward.

With deep gratitude, we celebrate the woman whose calling became our mission, and whose leadership continues to shape hope for generations to come.
