✨ IEP Therapy Team Member Spotlight ✨
Meet Lisa, one of our incredible Speech-Language Pathologists, who brings creativity, compassion, and a whole lot of fun to her sessions every day!
🗣️ **What she loves about working in schools:**
For Lisa, it’s all about connecting with students. She loves incorporating games into her sessions, sharing laughs, and creating meaningful moments—she especially loves when kids say the funniest things! Helping students grow in their communication skills while making a difference in their lives is what drives her.
🌟 **Why she loves IEP Therapy:**
Lisa values the strong support system and the genuine interest the team takes in her as an individual, allowing her to thrive both personally and professionally.
🎲 **Favorite therapy activities:**
Lisa is known for her engaging themes, where therapy comes to life through creative, immersive learning. From pirate adventures to camping fun, her sessions are always a hit! Her Eric Carle unit is a standout favorite, blending literacy and language in exciting, meaningful ways.
❤️ **Her mission as an SLP:**
Lisa wants every student to know how deeply she cares about them—not just their speech and language goals, but in all aspects of life.
🎉 **Fun fact:**
She absolutely loves people! As a result, she has many "adopted" children who refer to her as "Mama Lisa." She even has an honorary grandbaby from one of those "adopted" children.
🌿 **Outside of work:**
When she’s not helping students find their voice, Lisa enjoys scrapbooking retreats with friends, camping with her family, and volunteering as a youth group leader, where she continues to mentor and uplift young people.
👨👩👦 **Family life:**
Lisa is a proud mom of three boys (including 12-year-old twins!) and recently celebrated her oldest son’s marriage—welcoming a daughter-in-law into the family.
Lisa’s passion for communication, connection, and care shines through in everything she does. We’re lucky to have her on the IEP Therapy team—help us celebrate her! 👏
