Sight’ Without Eyes
♦ Tests have again confirmed that light can apparently be sensed with more than just the eyes. North Carolina Department of Mental Health experiments with young pigeons indicates they perceive light through their skin. Squabs respond to light before their eyes function. The physiological mechanism accounting for this ability is not known.
Face Flaking
♦ For some people the approach of middle age and its signs in one’s face is so upsetting to them that they are willing to endure the risks associated with face flaking. This is a process in which the outer layer of skin is burned off with a chemical solution. It is hoped that the new layer will give their face a more youthful appearance. But there is a real risk of being pockmark for life. One can permanently be disfigured, burned so badly that one could not move his or her neck. What a prize? You what is your view of life There is nothing wrong in enhancing our structure; our shape but in moderation
The Best Diet for Reducing Obesity.
♦ It is a widespread practice for obese individuals to try to reduce their scale by means of drugs, but this, according to observation and collected data this is not only dangerous but unrealistic. It has been observed that the treatment of obesity with drugs is “without proof of lasting benefit.” By using them a person runs the risk of injury from their side effects. As observed, the continued proliferation of new formula and root indicates the relative failure of all in promoting sustained loss of weight in most obese persons. . . . Dieting remains the most important technique for weight reduction.” With other procedure the weight loss is soon regained. Yes Crash programs, bizarre or special diets, and the prescription of drugs rarely result in more than short-term weight reduction; in fact, nothing short of the staying power of a lifetime commitment to dietary control. Yes this is what can permanently control obesity.”
High Food Cost
♦ Right now food prices are sky-rocketing all over the world. Numerous economic and agricultural factors are the primary reasons for the increase. But an Associated Press analysis of the subject reveals one more cause: “There is the consumer. He makes demands on the market his grandfather would have laughed at. But flaked mashed potatoes, pre-mixed brownies, glazed and colored cereals, frozen vegetables seasoned and buttered ready to cook, all sell, and sell well. Every time the American consumer asks someone else to do what he could very well do for himself, it costs.”
