We provide music therapy and music groups for children and adults of all ages and needs. Dynamic Music Therapy, Inc.

provides quality music therapy services throughout the greater Indianapolis area. We work with individuals on the Medicaid Waiver, in addition to group and 1:1 services at local businesses. Our music groups include everything from instrument play, singing, dancing, and reading, to learning sign language and developing community through music therapy and wellness!

Dynamic Music Services is excited to welcome Michaela to our team!

Michaela Miller, MT-BC (they/them) is a music therapist with expertise in medical, mental health, and hospice settings. They attended the University of Dayton, where they majored in Music Therapy with a vocal primary and minored in Spanish. They interned at Park Nicollet Health Services with adults in oncology, Parkinson's rehabilitation, the inpatient medical setting, hospice, and children's bereavement services. They have worked with clients of all ages and abilities in private practice, hospitals, and hospices. Michaela is bilingual in Spanish and English. Michaela is extremely excited and grateful to join the team at Dynamic!

Happy National Drummer Day! Kelli is a music therapist and drum-lover at DMS. A primary percussionist, she loves that drums truly provide an atmosphere where there are no wrong notes. "Drumming is something that is inviting and waiting for a connection to be made musically. One note, and we can run with it rhythmically through so many different avenues." And with that, we hope you all get a chance to do some drumming today!

Continuing on with our intern spotlight on Lily - we asked Lily about what she has learned over the course of her internship here at Dynamic.

What have you learned about music therapy?
"Every session does not need to be 'life-changing' or 'amazing' for the client to reach their goals."

What have you learned about yourself?
"I have learned more (and continue to learn) about personal boundaries, self-care, and advocating for myself in order to offer the best care for the clients I work with."

What is something you have learned throughout the course of your internship?
"I have learned about various ways to advocate and have had the opportunity to practice advocating for my clients and their needs with their teams and family members."

On Wednesday, Lily presented her case study to our team! She shared with us about her research during internship, entitled "Exploring Music and Absolute Pitch as a Means of Communication for Clients with Autism." Thank you for sharing what you learned and observed, Lily!

Today is National Saxophone Day and we wanted to highlight Bekah, who plays the alto saxophone! She played all through high school and every once in a while she'll play for fun. Stay tuned for our other fun instrument highlights coming up later this month!

As we continue spotlighting Lily as she finishes out her internship here at Dynamic, we asked her about her favorite songs and experiences to use in sessions.

Lily's favorite songs to use in sessions include "Look Up" by Joy Oladokun, "Good Riddance" by Green Day, and "I've Been Everywhere" by Johnny Cash.

"I enjoy facilitating guided relaxation experiences, primarily because they provide grounding opportunities for myself as well as the clients. Also, as most experiences are in music therapy, it is adaptable, and there are endless types of guided relaxation/meditations to use!"

Today is the last day of celebrations of Dia de los Mu***os, the day when all faithfully departed souls arrive to visit, collect, and eat what their loved ones have placed. A white candle is placed to light their way back, and tomorrow, the altar will be removed. All Souls Day traditions vary by culture and region, but share these similarities.

Our Story

Dynamic Music Services, Inc. opened to increase access to music therapy services in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. We provide services to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly. We believe music is for a lifetime. We partner will local agencies and work with individuals in the community. We primarily work with individuals on the Indiana Medicaid Waivers, but accept many forms of payment. We provide group and 1:1 services. Our mission is to increase access and education to Music Therapy. We provide quality music therapy services and work as a team to adhere to our quality of services. Dynamic Tots Music Classes are early childhood music enrichment classes led by board certified music therapists. Dynamic Tots Music Classes are for children under the age of 5 and their caregiver. Our classes include music activities such as music and movement, instrument play, singing, dancing, and reading/literacy skills.
