Pulling or yanking your power chair power plug out of the wall by the cord can lead to things you want to avoid. These include damage to your wall outlet and damage to your power cord or plug, potentially putting you at risk of electrical shock or a fire hazard.
Always follow these safe practices for unplugging:
- Always grasp the plug itself.
- Pull the plug straight out towards you.
- Inspect cords and plugs regularly for signs of damage like fraying, splitting, or exposed wires. Replace damaged cords immediately.

When Mr. S came to us, his situation was complicated. His needs required more than just standard procedures; they called for creativity, persistence, and teamwork at the highest level. Our Customer Experience, Insurance, Sales, and Field teams came together, determined to find a solution. It took countless calls, problem-solving sessions, and a few passionate debates, but everyone kept their eyes on the same goal: getting Mr. S exactly what he needed to live more comfortably.
The day everything came together, he sent us a message overflowing with gratitude, sharing that his new equipment fit perfectly, relieved his pain, and restored his confidence in what was possible. His words were powerful, emotional, and a reminder that every obstacle we face is worth overcoming.
Here’s to the wins that matter most! ♿ 🙌

To keep your mobility equipment performing at its best, it must be appropriately charged! We recommend plugging in your wheelchair overnight for at least 8–10 hours each day. If you don’t use it daily, an overnight charge once a week is perfect.
For more helpful tips, be sure to check your owner’s manual to make sure your equipment is always at its best.

Today is National Accessible Air Travel Day - a perfect time to draw attention to the U.S. Department of Transportation's recently issued final rule to strengthen its regulation in implementing the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA). All airlines are required to comply with the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), which was passed into law in 1986. The federal law prohibits discrimination against any individual with a disability during air travel. It also ensures people with disabilities have the same rights as other passengers when flying.
The rule aims to strengthen this law by addressing the serious problems that individuals with disabilities using wheelchairs and scooters face when traveling by air, which impact their safety and dignity. These problems include mishandled wheelchairs and scooters, as well as improper transfers to and from aircraft seats, aisle chairs, and personal wheelchairs.
Congratulations to Hunter Cissell on her well-deserved promotion to Prior Authorization Submission Representative! Since joining the Rehab Medical team in 2022, Hunter has embraced every opportunity to grow, lead, and learn along the way.
Her work ethic is extraordinary, and we’re excited to see the amazing things she’ll accomplish in this next chapter of her career! 🔴 🙌
