Circle City Clubhouse

Circle City Clubhouse Clubhouse is structured around a work-ordered day. This allows members to get out, be around others, and participate in a week-day work group.

We offer programs—not recreation—during normal work day hours, then social activities at least one evening a week and some weekends. Programs include meal preparation, care of the clubhouse, job training, and educational support. We empower our members and encourage each of them to use Clubhouse how they see fit for their recovery process. They are able to take charge of their lives, requiring that they be part of the decision-making process for everything involved in Clubhouse. Clubhouse staff work side-by-side with the members and assist them with finding employment, locating safe and affordable housing, and providing an environment of inclusion and acceptance of all. The Clubhouse focuses on strengths, talents, and abilities of its members. Attendance is voluntary and without time limits. Clubhouse is not a residential facility, it’s a community of people engaged in important work.

It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of Circle City Clubhouse. As an independent Clubhouse, we have struggled to find the resources needed to sustain our commitment to engaging a member-driven, work-oriented environment guided by the Clubhouse standards. We have appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with members, families, staff, donors, Board members, providers, and other stakeholders to provide a space in the community where individuals impacted by mental illness could build confidence, skills, and connection by participating in the shared tasks and decision-making processes of running the Clubhouse, working together to address members’ needs, and supporting each other.

We invite our members and our community to join us for a gathering at 4141 Office Plaza Boulevard on Saturday, March 29 from 3-6pm. The Board is preparing to sell the building, so if you have any personal belongings there, please plan to pick them up soon. The Clubhouse is unable to provide transportation.

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce my departure. I have truly loved working for Circle City Clubhouse. However due to personal constraints I feel it is time for me to say goodbye.
