Glenn Lawson, Jr.
Glenn Lawson Jr., born September 5, 1955, passed away on December 24, 2025, in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Greenfield, Indiana.
Glenn was the beloved son of Barbara Lawson and the late Glenn Lawson Sr. He was the eldest of three children and was raised alongside his sister, Margaret, and his brother, Virgil Lawson (Linda). As the oldest child, Glenn naturally assumed a leadership role within his family, a responsibility he carried with pride throughout his life.
As a child, Glenn loved being outdoors and was rarely inside. He spent countless hours playing sports with the neighborhood kids and could often be found playing kick the can, hide-and-seek, and other classic outdoor games. He also found joy and adventure playing in the train yards at his father’s workplace—memories that reflected his energetic spirit and love of simple joys.
In 1976, Glenn married Carmen (Murphy) Lawson, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage characterized by devotion, loyalty, and enduring love. Their union served as the foundation of a strong and close-knit family.
Glenn was a devoted father to his sons, Glenn Lawson III (Amber) and Christopher Lawson (Maria Pineda). He was actively involved in their lives, serving as a baseball coach and Boy Scouts den master, and remained a constant source of guidance and support. Glenn believed strongly in leading by example and instilled in his family the values of hard work, integrity, and responsibility. Some of his most cherished memories were spent fishing with his kids.
A proud blue-collar worker and businessman, Glenn was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication to providing for his family.
He was a proud grandfather to Glenn Lawson IV (Caroline McCaskill), Paul, Autumn (Freddy Figueroa), and Aaron, and a cherished great-grandfather to Elianna Figueroa and Iris Lawson. Glenn took great pride in his family and found his greatest joy in the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Glenn was well known for his love of pinball and gaming and was a familiar presence at local arcades, where he was affectionately known as the “Pinball Wizard.” He especially enjoyed playing Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Asteroids, and many other classic arcade games. He was also an accomplished Yahtzee player.
Glenn will be remembered for his quiet strength, dry sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and steady presence. His legacy of dedication, character, and love will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Lawson, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen (Murphy) Lawson; his sons, Glenn Lawson III (Amber) and Christopher Lawson (Maria Pineda); his grandchildren, Glenn Lawson IV (Caroline McCaskill), Paul, Autumn (Freddy Figueroa), and Aaron; his great-grandchildren, Elianna Figueroa and Iris Lawson; his mother, Barbara Lawson; his sister, Margaret; and his brother, Virgil Lawson (Linda).
No funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life is being planned for March 28, with additional details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Glenn’s memory.
