Today marks five years since Connected in Community was born.
What started as me seeing clients on nights and weekends quickly became a full group practice. But that growth wasn't sustainable, and I learned that growth doesn't always need to be the goal.

In celebration of our birthday, here's a blog post I wrote about the weight of community responsibility and my decision to scale back in order to reclaim my peace and purpose.

As 2024 comes to a close, Connected in Community will be transitioning from a group practice back to a solo private practice. This decision allows me to refocus on family and reconnect with what I love, which is being a therapist. I’m so grateful for the incredible team, the community we've built, and every individual who trusted us on their journey.

Each therapist is transitioning to new practices, so clients can continue receiving care. Please stay tuned for details on how to stay connected with them. Thank you for your ongoing support. This community will always hold a special place in my heart. 💙

As part of our commitment to increase equitable mental healthcare throughout Indiana, we host social work, counseling, and marriage and family therapy interns through Our Therapy Lab. Our Interns receive biweekly individual supervision, weekly group supervision, monthly professional development, and provide low cost care to the community.

Are our students paid? OF COURSE!
We stand on our values of equity and inclusivity within the care we provide AND in how we support one another.

Our 2024-2025 interns will begin their practicum soon and so, we are accepting referrals. If you know someone in Indianapolis needing inclusive, affirming medical care at a reduced rate, please encourage them to self submit a referral. Our students are only able to support a limited number of clients.

As her final project, Nykasia put together a client satisfaction survey which was sent out to all Connected in Community and clients. The results highlight the amazing work this team is doing.
