RISK ALERT! There are reports of a potential mass overdose in downtown Indianapolis. We do not know the cause of this event.

Multiple potent substances are circulating in Indianapolis. Syringe testing in January found as many as 11% of syringes at some sites were positive for carfentanil, an opioid 100 times stronger than fentanyl.

To have your syringes or other paraphernalia tested, come visit us at 1434 Shelby St on Tuesday or Thursday from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.

Washington Park will be open as a warming center (3130 E 30th St) overnight from 7 pm to 8 am. No sign in required.

All other Indy Park Family Centers will be open during regular hours.

From June to July, we saw an increase of 153% of syringes containing carfentanil. Carfentanil is 100 times stronger than fentanyl, and it has already been linked to two overdose deaths in Marion County that we know of. If you are interested in having your syringes or other supplies tested, come see us.

As a reminder, we are giving out UNLIMITED naloxone this month at all Safe Syringe sites. We will be open on Thursday at 1434 Shelby St from 9:30 to 4:30 with free HIV testing through Eskenazi Primary Care, as well as from 1:30 to 4:30 at our new location at Healthnet Barrington Health Center, located next to the pharmacy.
