It’s National Healthcare Quality Week! 🏥

This week we celebrate healthcare workers for their dedication to patient care and impact on our communities. Kristen H., Regional Director, Construction, explains Medxcel's commitment best:

"When we renovate or create a new space, it is our goal to provide spaces that are clean, welcoming, comfortable, and that help patients heal by making them feel they're receiving the best quality care."

What new habits are you working to build? Sunny K., Manager, Regulatory Compliance Support, is working on cultivating better self-care.

“I need to do more self-care because I tend to take care of others, and think about myself last,” she shares, adding that she could also use more water and exercise. (We can relate, Sunny!)

When the demands of her role feel overwhelming, Sunny relies on one simple but powerful practice: “When I get overwhelmed or stressed about anything, I try breathing exercises or give myself time and space before I respond.”

Sunny’s approach reminds us that sometimes the most effective professional tools are the ones that help us maintain our wellbeing.

What about you? Which habits have you found help you bring your best self to work each day? Let us know in the comments below.

We love to highlight examples of our team members helping others in need.

Although Rudy S. retired from Medxcel after 44+ years serving at Ascension Providence Hospital in Texas, he takes pride in continuing to care for its grounds. On a hot day, he noticed an elderly gentleman waiting a long time at the bus stop. Rudy came with bottled water, calling a relative to pick the man up while ushering him inside to cool off. More recently, Rudy was recognized with the BEE Award, noting his years of compassionate service.

Thank you, Rudy, for living out Medxcel's Common Purpose of supporting life's moments!

📚 What have you read lately that made an impact on you?

"'Master the Matrix: 7 Essentials for Getting Things Done in Complex Organizations' by Susan Z. Finerty. What really stood out to me is how trust is essential to everything, with mutual respect as a cornerstone. Over-communicating and transparency is key to developing trust and respect, especially in a virtual environment."

We believe that driving and sustaining high performance requires investing in employees’ well-being, in and outside of work.

“Before coming to Medxcel, I was working a lot of nights and weekends, and was searching for better work-life balance. That’s how I ended up here. I started as an electrician, and have been promoted several times in just five years.”

🗣️ What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

“Have confidence in yourself. When I first stepped into a leadership role, I doubted my abilities, simply because I hadn’t been part of those conversations before. Fortunately, I had a mentor who provided valuable feedback, which helped me become comfortable and confident in my new role.”

- Greg G., Director, Fire Systems
