1. Minimize Your Insurance Risk

2. Opt Out of Medicare the Right Way
Compliance matters. Formally opting out of Medicare and avoiding traditional contracts keeps your practice protected.

3. Know Your State’s DPC Laws
More than 30 states have DPC-friendly legislation, but others have specific rules around registration and payment structures.

4. Check Medication Dispensing Rules
Direct dispensing can be a great service for patients, but regulations vary by state.

5. Stay HIPAA Compliant
Even small, low-tech practices must follow HIPAA standards. Staying current on the Final Rule is essential.
