๐Ÿ”ฆ Impact in Focus: Apprenticeship as a Pathway to Healing and Growth

At Community Partners of South Florida, our Securing our Future Initiative (SOFI) program equips individuals with hands-on training in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and moreโ€”fields that offer competitive wages and long-term career growth.

But the impact goes far beyond job skills.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Geneva Facon, SOFI member, shares:
โ€œI met Paola, my SOFI case manager, during one of the hardest seasons of my lifeโ€”facing depression, anxiety, and the end of my marriage. Through her support, workshops, and resources, I began to heal, rebuild, and find my identity. She connected me to programs like Triple P for parenting, a Christmas gift from the program for my daughter, Dress for Success, and even resources for food and utilities during my struggles. I am especially grateful for the SOFI program, where I won a laptop in a raffle that will support my business journey. Today, I stand as a more confident, self-aware, and peaceful womanโ€”grateful for the growth, the community, and the new identity Iโ€™ve embraced.โ€

Whether itโ€™s a local employer mentoring a new apprentice or a graduate launching their own business, the impact is real and lasting.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Want to get involved? If you own a business and would like to connect with a potential apprentice, contact Abi Musallam at amusallam@cpsfl.org or Ana Lopez at alopez@cpsfl.org.

Letโ€™s keep building futuresโ€”one apprentice at a time.

Community Program Alert!

I am excited to share an update about a program designed to strengthen families in our community โ€“ Mothers at Hope.

Mothers at Hope is a peer support network for pregnant women and mothers of babies 0โ€“24 months. The program provides a safe and welcoming space for moms to come together, share their experiences, and receive encouragement, guidance, and resources as they navigate early motherhood. Meetings also include access to childcare, so moms can fully participate.
