Saying goodbye to my adored aunt shirley (& my biggest FB office fan).
She was such a fun loving strong woman who fought a hard battle. In this time of sadness , I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the love and support she has brought into my life. Our conversations and fun times will always be cherished.

Healing - Above, Down, Inside, Out

Have you ever thought about how your body heals? Just like in the movie Inside Out, where emotions guide Riley from the inside, healing in our bodies follows a fascinating path: Above, Down, Inside, Out (ADIO).

Your brain, the control center "Above," sends vital signals "Down" your spinal cord through your nervous system on the "Inside" to the entire structure of your body to signal how to repair all of your body systems from the inside to the "Outside." These signals are crucial for your body's self-repair, as it's the best self-sustaining machine on the planet.

💡 Did you know? Healing is our body's default state! Your brain acknowledges pain & dysfunction & then sends signals to repair. However, when there are interferences, like "pinched nerves," caused by shifts in the bones of the spine (vertebrae), the signal from the brain can't reach the organs or structures, slowing down healing. These interferences prevent the body from regenerating fully & instead cause degeneration, leading to dysfunction or illness. As Chiropractors, we help remove these interferences to ensure your body regenerates fully.

We also examine the spine when examining musculoskeletal injuries, such as joint pain. Without proper signals to those areas, healing is slow to progress. By addressing injuries & activities that cause shifts in the body, we ensure that signals from the brain reach all areas, speeding up the healing process & preventing degeneration.

There are times when the classic adjustment (popping & cracking) isn't suitable, and there are many ways to adjust when that's the case!

Pictured is one of those tools, a hand-held instruments I use when a traditional, manual adjustment isn't best option.

Here are some reasons I might use tools & modified manual techniques:

* Young children
* Compromised bones (e.g. osteoporosis)
* Severe pain or tenderness
* Patient preference
* When the desired effect is more neurological than mechanical
* When the body won't release a restriction in response to a manual adjustment
* To protect myself from injury

Everyone’s body and condition is unique. Everyone’s chiropractic adjustments are also unique.
