Nearly 1 in 5 prescriptions in the U.S. go unfilled.

The reasons are real, transportation challenges, cost, and limited access often stand in the way of people getting the care they need.

That’s why we are thrilled to open the doors to the Westland Genoa Healthcare Pharmacy inside Hegira Health!

By bringing pharmacy services on-site, we’re removing barriers and making it easier for those we serve to stay on track with treatment and recovery. Now, medications and support are available right where care is delivered.

This is more than just a pharmacy. It’s a game-changer for client impact, another step in keeping wellness first for our community.

Thank you to everyone who made Recovery Rocks such a powerful gathering. With nearly 150 participants, we came together to celebrate the strength and resilience of individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders —a turnout that reflects our region’s deep commitment to hope and healing.

Events like Recovery Rocks not only honor those who are celebrating recovery, but also remind us that far too many people are still left without the care and support they deserve.

That’s why Hegira Health is here. For more than five decades, we’ve provided a comprehensive continuum of care, meeting people wherever they are in their recovery journey. From 24-hour medically monitored withdrawal management and residential care, to intensive outpatient programs, peer support, counseling, and medication-assisted treatment — we walk alongside individuals and families every step of the way.

This event would not have been possible without our partnership with Recovery Action Network of Michigan, the rocking bands, our amazing volunteers, our generous donors — Livonia Save Our Youth Coalition, McKenzie Construction, Braeburn, Gustafson Family, Skywood Recovery, Families Against Narcotics - Downriver Chapter, FAN Northwest Wayne County, and Buffalo Wild Wings — and the ever-hospitable Token Lounge, our fantastic venue.

We are deeply grateful to our partners, volunteers, and community members whose passion and advocacy made this event a success. Together, we are building a future where recovery is not only possible, but celebrated.

When someone is in a mental health crisis, the right response can change everything.

There are millions of 911 calls each year involving behavioral health needs, and too often, traditional emergency responses alone can’t provide the care required. That’s where crisis teams step in.

During National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week, we’re proud to recognize Hegira Health’s work alongside our law enforcement partners to bring immediate, compassionate support when it’s needed most. Having a mental health professional on scene means a person in crisis is more likely to be met with care, understanding, and a pathway to safety and recovery.

We’re grateful for our staff who make this possible every day: Adelaide Ward • Jonathan Reed • Jennifer Grzymala • Sonia McCain

And our partnerships with: Northville Twp / Northville City / Plymouth City, Livonia PD, Westland PD, Redford Twp PD, Wayne / Romulus / Van Buren.

Together, we’re making the right response to those in mental health crisis, helping our communities be safer and healthier for everyone.

1 in 5 adults experience a mental health challenge. Too many delay care because they don’t know where to turn, are embarrassed, or have been disengaged because it can take weeks or even months for an appointment.

Like any other health concern, a mental health problem will only worsen over time without treatment. If you or someone you care about is struggling with anxiety, depression, or other behavioral health concerns, immediate support is critical and available.

Hegira Health’s Behavioral Health Urgent Care is here for you 7 days a week, 8AM–10PM. No appointment needed.

Learn more in this episode of HHI in Focus and see how we’re making care more accessible for our community.

If you or someone you know needs support, visit us today—because help can’t wait.

With a 4% decline in deaths by overdose in 2023 for the first time in Michigan since before the pandemic, interventions to reduce deaths from drug overdose are working. We are learning more every day, our approaches are more science-based and encouraging, and discussions about addiction are more open as we chip away at the stigma that discourages access to care. Even with all these gains, there are still tens of thousands of people suffering, many alone and ashamed, the loss of a loved one to a substance overdose. Hegira Health, Inc. was proud to partner with FAN Northwest Wayne County and the Recovery Action Network of Michigan to bring an evening of remembrance, compassion and hope to friends and family this Overdose Awareness Day. To those suffering, there is support nearby, for those at risk, doors are open to help you. Thank you City of Westland - Administration for hosting our event, Lauren Rousseau, President of NW FAN, and to all of the speakers whose stories and open arms were so encouraging. In the U.S., over 46 million people struggle with a substance use disorder, yet only about 10% receive treatment each year. Too many individuals and families carry the weight of addiction in silence, battling stigma, limited access to care, and the fear of not finding support that truly understands their journey.

For more than 50 years, Hegira Health has walked alongside individuals and families on the road to recovery. From crisis services to ongoing treatment, we believe recovery is possible, and we provide the tools, compassion, and support to help make it reality.

Recovery Rocks is more than an event—it’s a celebration of hope, healing, and resilience. Join us September 11 as we honor the strength of those in recovery and remind our community that no one has to walk this journey alone.
