When we’re diagnosed with thyroid or autoimmune disease, we often plunge into a long list of things to avoid.
This can create more stress on top of the stress we already have in our life which can cause further hormone imbalance, nutrient deficiencies and worsening of symptoms.
I can’t tell you how many clients who first come to me with a long list of foods they are avoiding and once we start adding nourishing foods back, they start seeing dramatic improvement!
There are so MANY foods that we’ve demonized that are actually very healthy for the body!
This includes raw or cultured dairy, cooked cruciferous and goitrogenic vegetables, meats, eggs, and so much more.
Of course, there can be allergies, or sometimes we need to avoid a certain food for a period of time, but in general, we need to remember to enjoy our food and allow it to nourish us!
Adding more nutrient-dense foods into your daily diet also helps reduce stress, balance cortisol, balance hormones, heal the gut and so much more!
