My mom could tell I was an introvert from when I was tiny. When my brother was born I was two years old and being highly sensitive and conscientious, I strove to be the big sister and help as much as I could.
But my mom saw that I was feeling stressed so she began letting me have time by myself in our shared bedroom each afternoon. I would shut the door and look at books and play and daydream.
As he got older, my brother would sometimes howl outside the door wanting to come in, but I would have my quiet time and recharge. (He's an introvert too, btw, as are my other siblings.)
If you're an introvert, today is a day to celebrate YOU!!
If you're an extrovert, think about the introverts in your life and maybe send them a text letting them know how you appreciate them. Or better yet, mail them a real card or letter!!
In this very new year, take time to sit with a cup of tea, dream and plan, enjoy a hobby or craft, and do the quiet things you like best.
That's what I'll be doing today!

Kim
